Our little adventure; Helmet Diving

Picture borrowed from the internet
It was a rainy afternoon at a place located somewhere in the middle of the Philippines' geography when my siblings and I decided to do something "Fun" to enjoy our vacation. We went to the beach and enjoyed the clean sea water, white sand and the sight of "eye candies" everywhere.

We dived, swam and played-around in the water for a period of time but still couldn't get enough. We wanted to do something memorable since it was our last day on that island.

We jumped off the water and headed towards the array of restaurants to buy ourselves something to fill our empty stomach (Physical activity gets me hungry-quick!). While walking, a man approached us and showed us packages of fun activities(Perfect!).

He offered us the Banana boat ride, Buggy car adventure, Island hopping etc. and one of it was the Underwater Helmet diving. We opted for the latter because, its sounded hassle-free and exciting!

The thought of feeding colorful fishes under the water, and being able to breathe normally with the help of a helmet is what convinced us to try it over the other packages presented. For the four of us, He offered the 10 minute dive with 40 pieces of pictures, and a 5 min. video for only P1,800. Great deal eh?!.yes! -we closed the deal with a 50% down-payment, and agreed to do the activity after lunch.

So we proceeded to the restaurant and bought us pizza for lunch!(yum!) After having our tummies filled, we wasted no time and hastily went to our rendezvous. There, we waited for the pump boat that would send us to that floating little bamboo shade in the middle of the water where we will do the "dive".

Signing of waiver and orientation before the dive
Upon getting there, we were asked to sign the waiver and was given instructions about what to do underwater. We sat and waited for our turn for about around 15mins.

Then finally, it was our turn! We jerked off our seats as the guide gave his signal. My sisters went down first and I was the last to submerge into the water.

I was surprised to see the beautifully colored fishes of different species swimming out and about.
Though it was a gloomy afternoon, we could still see clearly underneath. Imagine how much more if the sun was up? it might have amplified its beauty.

Hello Nemo! :D
Nemo's friends! Ka FB niya.
In the same breath, It also made me feel like I was in another world, a world that is so quite and calm yet, you fear what lies beyond sight. Imagine you being under and you look afar, the view gets darker and  darker as you try to look farther you will see things that aren't really there. For a minute my mind played around with my imagination. I even thought of sharks or strange creatures appearing before our eyes. hahaha!

This would have been better if we did full planking. haha

Anyway, the corals though were not as fascinating(unfortunately!) I'm not sure if it is only in that site(there's a few) or the corals on the perimeter are not as healthy as those that we see on TV.

Nonetheless, to wrap it all up, It is a beautiful experience! being underwater felt eerie and majestic at the same time! Strange, yet you find it exciting. It's the kind that you want to explore despite the oddity.

Then, I came to realize that the world has given us more than what our eyes can see. Just because it's not visible doesn't mean it's not there.

Let's take the chance to enjoy nature while we still can today, cos' it may not be as beautiful tomorrow.
